Superstar Biography:
Wes Ikeda was born in Illinois just across the river from St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to Detroit, Michigan at the age of 17, and though he has lived in St. Louis for many years he still calls Detroit his home. He trained at Scott D'Amore's BCW Can-Am School in Windsor, Ontario, Canada under the guidance of Brandon "The Icon" Smith. After multiple BCW World Heavyweight Championships, Ikeda made his professional wrestling debut in 1998. In his ten year tenure he has earned 9 World Championships in various promotions around the United States. Ikeda gave up his full time wrestling schedule in 2001 and went into semi-retirement after only three years of entertaining wrestling fans across the world. He returned to BCW and other promotions for one off matches and angles until he was asked to join his family business in 2003. Still very involved with the sport, you won't be hard pressed to find him backstage at BCW or in the ring during an EBWF Dark Match. Known for his no limits style Wes Ikeda has been dubbed the Rebel without a Cause and more than once been accused of being a glorified stuntman, a label he takes in stride. Wes doesn't attribute his success to much talent, but instead an abundance of charisma. Fans all over the world think the rising legend has both. Wes' favorite wrestlers are Ricky Steamboat, Bruno Sammartino, Jimmy Snuka and Shawn Michaels. He credits his all time favorite match as Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 12. Not only does Ikeda own the EBWF, he also has ownership in Border City Wrestling and "Ike's" a nightclub in St. Louis' Delmar Loop District. He is married to Christy Hemme and father to three beautiful children. |
